The view from the top was most glorious. A cluster of houses with a couple of churches backed by a magnificent rice terrace stretching all the way up the mountain behind. The stone walls holding it in place give it the feel of some type of fortification. The superabundance of clean serene green was enough to make me miss paradise all the more. Its amphitheater-like terraces claim to be a wonder and this isn’t an empty boast. I found my vocabulary rather taxed by the improbable beauty surrounding us.
